DesoPur TCDO Filter Media Treatment

DesoPur® is a patented TCDO liquid agent (tetrachlorodecaoxide), which produces a controlled release of chlorine dioxide (ClO2) on contact with organic material.
TCDO is highly effective in destroying biofilms and Pseudomonas and is a proven method for thoroughly decontaminating filter sand and regenerating activated carbon media.
Using DesoPur® to treat ‘tired’ sand has additional benefits in that the filter walls and under-drain areas of the filter are decontaminated as well, something that sand replacement doesn’t address. As long as the filter vessel is in generally sound condition, DesoPur® is the ideal environmentally freindly and economical alternative to sand disposal. Easily applied, DesoPur creates no harmful residue or disposal issues.
DesoPur® and the halogen based decontamination treatment of swimming pool filters is patented by Wapotec GmbH, Salzburg.
