Spa Pool Decontamination & Disinfection

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regs. 2002 (COSHH) requires public and commercial leisure operators to identify and assess the risk of Legionella bacteria in hot water systems (above 20oC). HSCs’ L8 Approved Code of Practice & Guidance ‘The control of Legionella bacteria in water systems’ was developed to assist responsible persons in complying with this law. The guidance states that spa pools should be cleaned and the entire system disinfected on a weekly basis.

Using traditional disinfectants combined with physical cleaning, it is virtually impossible to clean the whole system without the dismantling of pipework and lengthy shutdown periods.

LegioCid is a complete spa pool treatment kit that allows thorough cleansing of the whole system, including balance tanks & filters. Easy to apply, the LegioCid kit produces a highly effective controlled release of chlorine dioxide + chlorine to remove biofilms and body fats from the entire system.
